February almost gone!
Yesterday I found the way to locate this page again! so perhaps each day I can post pictures, notes etc for those who wish to see to notice daily life in the area just north of Bucharest.
Yan and Ming came last night and now Yan is helping Eugeniu to make pies - apple and visine. The visine are frozen from last year's crop and when defrosted it is easy to remove the seeds. Already Ming has tutored a young man in China who is preparing to take an exam in English so that he can qualify for a job with an export/import company. Yan and I have explored the kinds of things that are good for the eyes and for her health conditions. And I have listened to the first part of an audio recording of an interview by Nigel who has sent it from Vienna! Modern communication is fantastic. Also I have checked the email and answered some serious situations as well as those that are not so serious. Also I have listened to audio books downloaded to my computer and very much enjoyed over the past year - catching up on reading - but the easy way.
Serious concentration on political events here and there leave me both sad and encouraged. Progress in some ways is heartening, but the hate mongering does not end - here or there. And the only recourse one can take is not to encourage it on a broader scale, but most importantly to catch it in oneself. Learning the difference between letting a truck run over you and holding a firm line in accord with your values.
The snow is melting, but it is still piled high. This morning Vickah has cleared the walks so that the frozen melted snow will not cause other problems. It is still so deep that the dogs cannot walk along the grounds in their usual paths, but at least Vickah could remove snow so that the septic tank could be drained of excess water.
